Sgt. Drake Jones

After managing LEAT's Basic Academy, Sgt. Jones now acts as the Deputy Director of the APOSTC Law Enforcement Academy Tuscaloosa and oversees the Academy's Continuing Education Program.  

Sergeant Jones has been employed with the Tuscaloosa Police Department since 1992.  During his law enforcement career, Sgt. Jones served as a Patrolman, Corporal (Field Training Officer), Motor Officer, Accident Reconstruction Investigator and Patrol Supervisor.  Drake began his civilian law enforcement career with the Gordo Police Department in 1991.  Before civilian law enforcement, Sgt. Jones served as a Military Policeman in the U.S. Army's 21st MP Co (Airborne), Ft. Bragg, NC and participated in Operation Just Cause (Panama) and Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm (Saudi Arabia).

Specializing in accident investigations and driving instruction, Sgt. Jones brings a passion for instruction to the Academy and looks forward to training tomorrow's police professionals.
